Semi-open log for the 4th expedition, Team 1 (Niou, Marui, Zaizen) and Team 2 (Sanada, Oshitari K, Mizuki) + Ibu tagging along to whichever he pleases. Technically they're in the same place so he can switch, too.

How this works: only characters involved in this event can tag in this log.

Pre-Expedition Events (Open until everyone gets tired of it): e.g. Training and Packing. These events will involve only training/supply personnel (e.g. Medical for First Aid, Engineering for equipment, Logistics for requisitions, Tachibana for rations etc) and the personnel going on the mission. This will also include everyone hopping on the shuttle to get to the seaside expedition location (total 7 expedition folks + one NPC pilot)

Expedition: (Open until everyone gets tired of it): Set up categories/threads as needed, for example :Camping, Digging, More Digging. Other characters can also tag eg if someone makes a comm call, but make sure you ask/inform that person first, and this should not take up significant portions of the log. As always, ask in the Discord if you have any questions.

Just to refresh your memory: Team 1 does outpost related scouting and evaluation of outpost locations, + a little drone diving, Team 2 goes looking for mystery organism(s) and clears out threats. Both teams will regroup in the shuttle at the end of each day to eat and rest.

Note: Expect bad weather, rain, and occasional disruptions to communications. Try not to get lost and keep some water on you.

It's time once again to set out on expeditions.

As before, I’ll be sending out two teams on expeditions. I already announced the date earlier, but as a reminder, you will be heading out on the 14th of Feburary, so you have some time to prepare and requisition equipment. The expedition will last 2 weeks. The teams are as follows:

Team 1: Niou, Marui, Zaizen

Team 2: Sanada, Oshitari Kenya, Mizuki

For this expedition, both teams will be working closely together. They will first be traveling together via shuttle to the Belt Ocean coast [satellite image and coordinates], which was previously explored in Mission 4. There, Team 1 will examine in detail two proposed sites for the new outpost, including the possibility of a dock extending out on the water. Duties will include assessment of ground stability as well as sending drones into the surrounding water. Team 2 will be clearing out threats and determining the organism responsible for the nest-like structure Cmd Byodoin was found in. A live specimen is preferred.

Both teams will be equipped with flying and diving drones (please see Engineering for equipment). Due to known serious hazards at the location, both teams will report back and shelter in the shuttle for their daily rest. Note that communications with the base may be spotty due to forecast storms.

As before, Ibu will be accompanying one of the teams.

Please study drone and communicator videos from Mission 4 to prepare yourselves. See requisitions for appropriate supplies including anti-rust spray (VERY IMPORTANT).

...Oh and by the way the air-conditioning is broken. I'm not sure if Engineering has enough time to fix it before they go out on the mission.

As before, I’ll be sending out two teams on expeditions. You will be heading out on the 5th of December, so you have some time to prepare and requisition equipment. The expedition will last 2 weeks. The teams are as follows:

Team 1: Byodoin, Kirihara, Mukahi
Team 2: Chitose, Zaizen, Yagyuu

For this expedition, both teams will be working closely together. They will first be traveling together via shuttle to a region by the Belt Ocean [satellite image and coordinates]. There, Team 1 will map the shoreline and clear out any potential threats, while Team 2 is to collect samples and survey the area for potential sites for an outpost. Both teams will be equipped with flying and diving drones (please see Engineering for equipment). Due to the unknown nature of hazards at the location, both teams will report back and shelter in the shuttle for their daily rest. Note that communications with the base may be spotty due to forecast storms.

As before, Ibu will be accompanying one of the teams.

Engineering will be providing a crash course for both teams on the operation of various equipment. Please see requisitions for appropriate supplies including anti-rust spray (VERY IMPORTANT).

It's time once again to set out on expeditions.

As before, I’ll be sending out two teams on expeditions. You will be heading out on the 4th, so you have some time to prepare and requisition equipment. The expedition will last 2 weeks. The teams are as follows:

Team 1: Inui, Yanagi, Akutagawa
Team 2: Tezuka, Ryuuzaki S., Shishido, Akutsu

For this expedition, both teams will be starting out from the mining outpost. The rank officers for Team 1 and Team 2 will be Inui and Ryuuzaki, respectively.

Your directives are as follows:

Team 1 will be mapping out the underground cave system surrounding the outpost and clearing out crawler nests along the way. I suggest you bring enough batteries for your flashlights. I've also heard it might get...muddy.

Team 2 will be investigating a strange rock formation 55km away from the outpost [satellite photo.jpg]. Document the site and take samples before exploring the surrounding mountain ranges for more prospective mining sites. The area is prone to rockfalls, so be careful.

At the end of the 2 week period, everyone will then meet back at the outpost and fly back to the base via shuttle. As before, Ibu will be accompanying one of the teams.

Please see requisitions for appropriate supplies. Engineering is to provide training for any relevant equipment.

Taking into consideration feedback from the first expedition, I’ve decided to announce the teams and tasks early this round.

As before, I’ll be sending out two teams on expeditions. You will be heading out on the 9th, so you have some time to prepare and requisition equipment. The expedition will last 2 weeks. The teams are as follows:

Team 1: Yukimura, Mizuki, Oshitari Kenya

Team 2: Kikumaru, Tooyama, Marui

For this expedition, both teams will be heading for the mountain range towards the west. Sub Lt. Kikumaru will pilot a shuttle to ferry the teams to the foothills. From there, teams will proceed on single-seater quad bikes or on foot, as the terrain allows.

Your directives are as follows:

Team 1 will be setting up a communications tower on one of the peaks (coordinates will be sent to your communicators) , which will expand the range and accuracy of our land communications. This type of tower is designed to unfold and set up by itself once it is stably secured. Once that objective is complete, the team may use the remaining time to explore and collect samples. Expect strong winds and dust storms.

Team 2 will remain in the foothills where probes have found potential ore deposits. You will use electromagnetic and geochemical methods to locate potential sites for mining, so bring the appropriate equipment. Physical labor is expected. Along the way, you may also collect samples of interest. Unidentified life forms have been detected in the area, so take note.

At the end of the 2 week period, everyone will then meet back at the same place and fly back via shuttle. As before, Ibu will be accompanying one of the teams.

Engineering will be providing a crash course for both teams on the operation of various equipment. Please see requisitions for appropriate mountaineering supplies.

Now that everyone’s all settled in, it’s time to get to work!

I’ll be sending out two teams on expeditions. You will be heading out on the 24th, so you have some time to prepare and requisition equipment. The expedition will last 2 weeks. The teams are as follows:

Team 1:

Sanada

Ohtori

Tachibana

Team 1 will be surveying the plateau for organic and inorganic resources i.e. possible food sources and mineral ores.

Team 2:

Hiyoshi

Uion☆

Oshitari Y.

Team 2 will be finding a ground route to the ocean and making detailed maps along the way. If possible, take samples of the ocean water. You may want to bring drones.

Both teams will be assigned land vehicles only as both shuttles are still being used to haul cargo. Finish up your tasks on base and start packing.
