Greetings, residents of Yomi!
Today, I bring you your monthly bulletin on recent events both here and around UEA-settled space.
Firstly, a summary of events here in Yomi:
The Med Bay has been fully repaired, thanks to efforts from our Engineering colleagues
As everyone undoubtedly already knows, our expedition teams found a large deposit of gold and other metals. A mining outpost has been built at the site.
Mr. Kobayashi from the Demolitions team, formerly MIA and presumed dead, has been found safe in an underground cavern by Able Spaceman Tooyama.
Able Spaceman Tooyama also found a freshwater lake, which will supply our new outpost. The lake will be named Lake Kobayashi.
We have cows.
The next expedition will be announced on September 20.
General announcements:
The scheduled monthly communications are in. Please check your communicators for any messages you may have received.
The deadline for sending your monthly allotment of communications to UEA space is Sep 30, UTC 1200.
Please DO NOT consume any water or organisms on this planet unless it has been vetted by Science. You should know this. Don’t do it. Our plumbing can’t take the consequences.
ANOTHER reminder for everyone to behave appropriately while in common areas. Save private matters for private spaces!
Thanks to increased funding, donations, and the efforts of Agriculture, we now have enough food supplies for residents to make their own meals if desired. You may purchase ingredients from the commissary for a nominal fee and prepare your own food in the shared kitchen. Be sure to be considerate of fellow residents and keep areas clean. Replicators will continue to operate free of charge.
In light of recent incidents, I would like to encourage everyone to remain on top of your own physical fitness, as well as survival and firearms training. Mandatory 6 month evaluations will take place for all military personnel.
Awards and Punishments:
This month’s employee of the month is…. Dr. Yukimura Seiichi. Thank you for your invaluable efforts in providing the base with food. As your reward, you may collect one (1) packet of dried beans from the Command office. I’ll also take another punnet of strawberries.
Punishments: Disappointingly, quite a few again.
For inappropriate public behavior, Ensigns Inui and Yanagi will be doing pool cleaning and maintenance by hand for two weeks. They will also serve 50 hours of lifeguard duty each.
Due to repeated personnel issues, Mr. Gakuto will be required to undergo 30 hours of online leadership training .
Scientific updates:
The most recent expedition, as well as exploration from creating the outpost, have shed light on new biology of the Elizabethan Crawlers, specifically, the existence of social groups and extra large specimens which seem to act as leaders or soldiers.
The bioluminescent organisms found by Mr. Kobayashi and Able Spaceman Tooyama in the newly discovered lake have been brought back to base and are undergoing further study.
News from UEA HQ, Earth and other colonies
The colony of Eden recently celebrated its 25th year of founding. Work on the long-delayed second colony is scheduled to begin in the next few months.
And finally, here are the monthly directives:
Exploration of the new cave systems and continued prospecting for ores will be our short term priorities.
Do your best for humanity!
