[SEMIOPEN LOG] EXPEDITION 2, ALL TEAMS

Semi-open log for the second expedition, Team 1 (Mizuki-Yukimura-Oshitari K) and Team 2 (Marui-Tooyama-Kikumaru-Ibu). 

 

How this works: only characters involved in this event can tag in this log.

Pre-Expedition Events (Opens Aug 6, lasts till Aug 8 or until everyone gets tired of it): Training and Packing. These events will involve only training/supply personnel (e.g. Medical for First Aid, Engineering for equipment, Logistics for requisitions, Tachibana for rations etc) and the personnel going on the mission. 

Expedition: (Opens Aug 9 and lasts till Aug 23, or until everyone gets tired of it): Set up categories/threads as needed, for example :Camping, Digging, More Digging. Other characters can also tag eg if someone makes a comm call, but make sure you ask/inform that person first, and this should not take up significant portions of the log. As always, ask in the Discord if you have any questions.

Tooyama was IN HIS ELEMENT as he helpfully shifted (very large) rocks out of the way for Marui and Kikumaru to use the fancy metal detectors on the ground. Anything that he couldn't shift manually he PUNCHED INTO CRUMBS. He laughed as he kicked one particularly large rock out of the way and it went bouncing away, smacking into other things.

This was SO MUCH FUN.

Ibu was getting great footage. (Though, he could really do without the wind. It was going to take so much editing to reduce the noise.) He panned around the area, then focused for a few minutes on each of his teammates. Tooyama was definitely enjoying himself. Definitely his element, Ibu thought, then zoomed in on Marui and Kikumaru. He couldn't quite tell from the nanosuits, but it didn't look like Marui was having that great of a time. "Would you rather be punching rocks as well, Marui sir?" he half-asked, half-shouted. "While I'm certain Tooyama sir has it completely under control, I thought you might like a change of pace for a little while and maybe rock demolition would be something you'd like to do. Of course, that isn't to say you can't also participate, Kikumaru sir."

Please, Shinji. Marui was SUFFERING. He'd been pleased to realize that the job itself wasn't too hard, but now the boredom had set in.

"Hell no! Do you want me to break my hand or something?" The great thing about the wind was that after the shout, the rest of Marui's grumbled complaining was lost to the world.

Tooyama laughed as this next rock, he lifted and hurled off to the side, before he ran up to Marui. And avoided just jumping on him because that might be seen as wrestling and that was not good since Marui was on the no punch list. "HAY! Marui!!! Can you use the METAL DE-TEC-TORS on the ground now?!" he shouted, even though they were right next to each other. "I THINK I'VE CLEARED ENOUGH GROUND NOW!!"

It's fine Kin-chan, Marui didn't need his ear drums anyway.

"Okaaaay, here we gooo." Oh, the enthusiasm. Marui could barely even hear the beeps as he scanned over the barren rocks, but the light... hey, had it blinked a different colour like that before? He looked up, wving over the others. "Hey, I think I actually found something."

Found something? Oh, that was exciting. Ibu shifted his focus from the landscape to Marui and zoomed in on the space Tooyama had made with his very impressive rock punching. His camera was designed to pick up minute details, but he wasn't seeing anything. The filmmaker moved closer, hoping that would help, but still stayed a decent distance away in case Tooyama got overly excited.

OMG maybe something exciting!! Tooyama came charging over with his shovel and pickaxe and shoved Marui out of the way to start furiously digging, tossing the soil (and rocks) over his shoulder. He was EXCELLENT at digging

Yikes time to dodge rocks!

"Kin-chan! Throw the dirt AWAY from us!!" But it's too late, a rock flew right into Marui's helmet visor and knocked him flat on his ass. So much for dodging.

Tooyama heard the shout and oops, he could turn around to throw the dirt in the opposite direction. But he didn't hear Marui go down and was too caught up in digging. Soon he was hidden in his hole that was only getting deeper.

Eiji hopped from one foot to another watching Tooyama disappear into his hole. "Hey Ibu? D'you think we should follow him?" he asked, and then, "I think we should follow him!"

Ibu walked closer to the hole -- or was it more of a pit now? -- and pointed his camera down. "Tooyama sir, instead of digging straight down, do you think you could make the hole wider so that way more of us could fit and help you look for other rocks, ore, and minerals? If not, I completely understand, but I think it would be safer if you weren't down there all alone." And also, Ibu really didn't want the dirt to fall in on Tooyama and potentially bury him.

Tooyama heard the shouting. "YAH!! HANG ON!!!" He struck out with his shovel to try and widen the hole, chipping away at it. And then his shovel thunked against something. And thunked again. "I FOUND SOMETHING!!" It took some hacking away before Tooyama excavated something shiny about the side of his head. And chucked up up out of the hole for the others.

Eiji heard Tooyama's yell and saw the thing he threw out of the hole arch through the air. Thinking that it might brain Marui or Ibu and that would suck, he leapt for it. "I've got it!" he yelled, stretching his arms out like a goalkeeper in a football match, snatching the thing out of the air... and being flung backwards with the weight, to crash into an unsuspecting someone behind him.

Marui had just gotten back up, and only had enough time to squawk in protest before Kikumaru crashes into him and sends them both to the ground in a heap.

Groan. Man that hurt. "Screw the mission, I'm staying down this time."

From the hole that the rock had been dug out of, something crawled.

Tooyama screamed his battlecry and smashed it with his fist, flattening it against the wall of sand.

Another thing crawled out, which met the same fate. Tooyama screamed some more. He was the true apex predator of Izanagi.

Eiji noticed that the flying rocks had stopped but he could still hear Tooyama yelling and punching things. He got up to his feet, put whatever he'd caught from the air on who he'd landed on - oh it was Marui - and headed back to the hole.

"Tooyamaaa!" he yelled. "What are you punching??"
