[SEMIOPEN LOG] EXPEDITION 2, ALL TEAMS

Semi-open log for the second expedition, Team 1 (Mizuki-Yukimura-Oshitari K) and Team 2 (Marui-Tooyama-Kikumaru-Ibu). 

 

How this works: only characters involved in this event can tag in this log.

Pre-Expedition Events (Opens Aug 6, lasts till Aug 8 or until everyone gets tired of it): Training and Packing. These events will involve only training/supply personnel (e.g. Medical for First Aid, Engineering for equipment, Logistics for requisitions, Tachibana for rations etc) and the personnel going on the mission. 

Expedition: (Opens Aug 9 and lasts till Aug 23, or until everyone gets tired of it): Set up categories/threads as needed, for example :Camping, Digging, More Digging. Other characters can also tag eg if someone makes a comm call, but make sure you ask/inform that person first, and this should not take up significant portions of the log. As always, ask in the Discord if you have any questions.

Kenya decided that Mizuki needed a little encouragement hug and did just that. "I promise we'll do everything we can to keep you safe!" It was really not a great promise, because he was not a professional...but at least Mizuki would know he wasn't actively trying to kill him?

Mizuki squeaked a little at the sudden hug but accepted Kenya's well wishes. Mr. Oshitari was so sweet!

"It'll be fine," he said, unconvincingly. His hands were shaking a little as he buckled up his harness and switched his comms to voice only.

"Going down will be easier than coming back up," Yukimura said. Hopefully, the dust storm would wind down on the way. "You got this, Mizuki."

"Do you want to come back up when you're done, or do you want to wait down there when you're done?" Kenya asked. "Climbing back up on your own might be hard..."

"I'll wait, I think, unless you need help," said Mizuki, peering nervously over the edge of the mountain. "If the rescue team's done bailing out Team 2, I can page them for help as well if needed."

"Maybe you could stay down there and we can let you know once we've finished setting everything up, so you can call for pick up?" Yukimura suggested. They had two shuttles now, so there should be room for them now that the equipment was gone, unless Team 2 found things to bring back.

Kenya smiled, grabbing some extra snacks from his pack and putting them in Mizuki’s pack. "Just do what keeps you safe, okay?"

Mizuki nodded at his teammates' suggestions, then tried to press Kenya's snacks back. "I've plenty of food! You should hold on to it in case you have to hunker down to wait out a dust storm," he said. Taking a deep breath, he went over to the edge and checked his safety equipment again. "Ready whenever!"

"We'll be fine," Yukimura reassured him. "Keep us updated via comms. Oshitari will come to your aid if needed." He looked to the nurse for confirmation. On the plus side, at least they didn't need rescued.

Kenya sheepishly kept the snacks, understanding that listening was its own kindness. "Yeah, I'll run down there as fast as I can! You just say the word!" He took Mizuki’s hand. "We're counting on you!"

Mizuki nodded. "See you soon, and good luck," he said, handing the rope over to his teammates and starting to lower himself down. The wind was starting to pick up again, which made him nervous.
