[SEMIOPEN LOG] EXPEDITION 2, ALL TEAMS

Semi-open log for the second expedition, Team 1 (Mizuki-Yukimura-Oshitari K) and Team 2 (Marui-Tooyama-Kikumaru-Ibu).

How this works: only characters involved in this event can tag in this log.

Pre-Expedition Events (Opens Aug 6, lasts till Aug 8 or until everyone gets tired of it): Training and Packing. These events will involve only training/supply personnel (e.g. Medical for First Aid, Engineering for equipment, Logistics for requisitions, Tachibana for rations etc) and the personnel going on the mission.

Expedition: (Opens Aug 9 and lasts till Aug 23, or until everyone gets tired of it): Set up categories/threads as needed, for example :Camping, Digging, More Digging. Other characters can also tag eg if someone makes a comm call, but make sure you ask/inform that person first, and this should not take up significant portions of the log. As always, ask in the Discord if you have any questions.

First aid/ engineering/ survival training goes here.

Scurry around fetching supplies! Does it all fit in the shuttle?

Subterranean scanners, worm radar, and drones? No problem. Marui picked up on all of it with no problem, lending evidence to his self-proclaimed title of 'genius'-- and continuing his pattern of only using his smarts for frivolous things, he was now using it to do flips with one of Niou's precious drones.

Niou sat, checking through the list of competencies that they needed to work all of the expedition members through before they left. And Marui was doing... very well - he'd make sure to show that to Sanada.

"If you break it, I'll use it to fly your corpse up to the top of the tower," Niou said, glancing at Marui playing with teh drone. "You don't need any drones for this trip anyway."

Now, Mizuki wasn't any sort of technological genius, but he did keep abreast of the latest developments. Trying to operate said developments was a little more difficult, but so far, manageable. He was more concerned about carting all of the equipment up a mountain, in addition to their food and water.

Marui waved off Niou's threat without a care. "I'm not gonna break it, stop worrying. Think of it like emergency preparedness, now I'm ready if I need to use it, right?"

Kenya, on the other hand, was having a little bit of difficulty with understanding the technology. Bodies, he understood! He gave Mizuki a worried look as he messed up yet again. "...You'll be able to do this part, right? I can do the heavy lifting!"

"Hello, Mr. Oshitari," Mizuki greeted, looking up from the control pad he was mulling over. "So far it seems fine to me. Are you sure you want to do all the physical work? We'll be out there for two weeks, and I'd hate for you to strain yourself."

Kenya nodded, motioning at the controls. "I don't wanna mess anything up while we're up there, you know? Plus, I'm pretty strong! I've got strong legs and those are important for lifting safely!" He said chipperly. "I'll need you and Yukimura-sensei to do more of the mental heavy lifting!"

What a sweet boy, thought Mizuki. Almost like a puppy. "Okay," Mizuki agreed readily enough (he didn't want to kill himself carrying over capacity anyway), nodding. "But you must tell us whenever you feel tired, or if you strain something! You're a nurse, you would know best when something is wrong, so we're trusting you on this!"

... he'd rather trust Kirihara with them, Niou thought, watching his drone still. His fingers twitched towards his master controls, tempted to just take it out of Marui's control. "You still need to show me that you can set up a tent, and then you're done."

Sanada had one of his trusted engineers watching over the equipment the members of the tower team could explore the tech options they'd have to bring and other ones available to them while he finished off an urgent request. When he was done, he headed to the training area and gave a nod to his engineering before greeting the other two.

"Mizuki, Oshitari. How are you finding things?" He had distributed user guides to the teams and he and Niou had tried to simplify the key tech as much as possible but you never knew what would confuse someone.

"Hello, Sanada-san," Mizuki greeted with a nod. "I think I'm quite confident with the equipment. We'll have to adjust for the wind when we're on site, of course...."

Siiigh. "Fine, fine. We'll do the tent so you can get rid of me." He brought the drone down gently, then handed the controls back over to Niou. Some people were just no fun.

Kenya nodded. "I will, I promise!" He wasn't that dumb. "I'll take good care of myself!" Except Kenya was absolutely the type to run himself ragged. "I've already set up our first aid kits. Some of the stuff they forgot to put in there was a bit worrying!" Sanada approached them and Kenya stopped and stared. "Oh, it's Yuushi's hot roommate!"

Everyone get in the car! Kikumaru's driving!

Shuttle flight to "basecamp" at the foothills of the mountain range.

Tooyama came screaming into the shuttle bay, gloves in one hand, mangled box of bandaids in the other. "I'M HERE DONT LEAVE WITHOUT ME!!!"

There may have also been glass in his hair and some cuts but all fine.

Mountain climbing, dealing with the elements, tripping over rocks...

Luckily, the comms tower has been (precariously) lowered in pieces onto a relatively flat halfway point.

Unfortunately, it was too windy and dangerous to drop personnel, so the team will have to make their way there and carry the equipment all the way up the mountain.

Expect an... event... about halfway through the expedition.

Use Engineering's precious equipment to search for ore deposits! Move rocks out of the way! Observe weird and wonderful wildlife!

It was nice that the two teams would get to ride the shuttle together, because having a few friends on the way over was a comforting thought. At least, until he spotted Kin-chan running in with glass in his hair and cuts. "Kin-chan, what happened??" The minute Kin was in range, Kenya was taking the box from him and covering him in band-aids.

NOOOO those were his BANDAIDS for his hands!!! Kintarou screamed in protest and grabbed them back from Kenya. "No Kenya that is WASTEFUL!!! I gotta save them for my HANDS when I am PUNCHING ROCKS!!"

Kenya shook his head. "I put plenty in the first aid kits!" Kenya insisted. "You need to cover these up or they might get infected!!"

"NOOOO!!! Cause I got these from ATOBE!! They're for HANDS ONLY cause I don't wanna get busted knuckles!!" He yanked away from Kenya and oh no gotta run away to get to the shuttle, glass trailing behind him.

Kenya chased after him. "You're leaving glass everywhere!!" He shouted. "And those are just normal bandages!!" Why was he chasing Kin? Who knew, really.

"TOO SLOW TURTLE KENYA!!!" Kin shouted, laughing as he sprinted and oops missed the entrance to the shuttle in his haste he had to do a loop and keep running with Kenya. "You'll have FOREVER to climb the mountain if you're this slow!!!"
