Greetings, residents of Yomi!

Today, I bring you your monthly bulletin on recent events both here and around UEA-settled space.

Firstly, a summary of events here in Yomi:

Our teams have successfully returned from their expedition. Rumors of Lt. Cmd Byodoin’s death are greatly exaggerated.
To facilitate operations on Izanagi, we have initiated a K9 division of security. Please welcome Kinjirou, our latest member of security. Do not pet.
The holiday party and cultural exchange event were successfully held. Thank you for your participation and please continue to forward suggestions for future activities to Mr. Ohtori.

General announcements:

The scheduled monthly communications are in. Please check your communicators for any messages you may have received.
As encouragement and reward for our hard work here, UEA HQ has seen it fit to issue promotions for a good portion of our staff. Congratulations and food work! Please check your communicators for further details. (You are to address me as Captain from now on) For those who did not receive a promotion, your full evaluations will be detailed to you so you may make improvements.
Chemical and biological safety training (CBS) Training modules A and B will be commenced this month. Please note you have to pass a quiz at the end of training.
The deadline for sending your monthly allotment of communications to UEA space is Jan 30, UTC 1200.
Future expeditions will be announced even earlier in advance to give Engineering more time to work. The next expedition is scheduled to be Feb 14 (Happy Valentine’s Day!). Engineering, please get to work on storm-proofing, salt-proofing and water-proofing equipment to be taken to the coast. Personnel for the expedition will be announced at a later date.

Awards and Punishments:

All those who did not think to get me a gift, you are to do 20 burpees outside my office. Shout your counts so I can hear you!
Employee of the month is .. Kirihara Akaya! Thanks for finding Lt. Cmd Byodoin. You may collect one (1) packet of gummies from my office.

Scientific updates:

Studies are ongoing regarding the new lifeforms discovered on the previous expedition.
Some new experimental plants and animals genetically modified for survival in desert climes have been sent over from the UEA HQ scientific division to see how they do on Izanagi. We will be gradually introducing them to the outside climate.

News from UEA HQ, Earth and other colonies

Pictures of holiday celebrations around Earth and UEA space are included in this month’s circular. Greetings and holiday well-wishes have sent to all of us on far-flung planets, so be sure to take a look!
The UEA remains on high alert for poaching activities on the fringes of UEA space. A reminder that sightings of unfamiliar spacecraft should be reported to the regional UEA command immediately.

And finally, here are the monthly directives (unchanged from last month’s):

We will continue to explore along the Belt Ocean coast.
Meteorological observations of the weather phenomenon along the coast will be a new priority.
