[MONTHLY BULLETIN] Update 8
Greetings, residents of Yomi!
I realize we missed the previous month’s bulletin, but to be fair, no one was actually working through the heat/cold, I’m sure.
Anyway, today, I bring you your monthly bulletin on recent events both here and around UEA-settled space.
Firstly, a summary of events here in Yomi:
Our teams have returned from their expedition, a little later than expected. Everyone is safe and well, though the mission vehicle sustained some damage.
As everyone may have noticed, we had a few malfunctions in the base’s temperature regulation system. This was due to a bugged system update that has now been patched. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
General announcements:
The scheduled monthly communications are in. Please check your communicators for any messages you may have received.
If you see any small crab-like organisms running around [pic.jpeg], page a decon robot immediately.
Remember to record and report any damages resulting from the botched update. We’ll collate it and send it on to UEA HQ.
Please actually sleep in your assigned quarters and not all over the place. This is to facilitate roll call and evacuation during emergencies. We will be doing spot checks!
The deadline for sending your monthly allotment of communications to UEA space is Mar 30, UTC 1200.
A Hanami/Easter/Songkran/Beltane/Earth Day celebration will be held on Apr 5. Please send in any suggestions for games or activities.
Awards and Punishments:
I think you all have suffered enough so no punishments this month.
Employee of the month is .. well there are two, Sub-Lt. Sanada Genichirou and Mr. Niou Masaharu! Exemplary work under pressure. You may each collect one (1) pack of chewing gum from my office.
Scientific updates:
The expedition teams encountered a mass migration event of small, crab-like organisms [not-crab.jpeg] from the ocean. They have been given the provisional name of Izanagi Violet Scuttler. Specimens have been collected and studies are ongoing. Radar and satellite data indicates the mass event has concluded.
The expedition team also reported large lizard-like creatures [not-lizard.jpeg] emerging from the ocean to feed on the scuttlers. No specimens have been retrieved, but the creatures are reported to be non-aggressive to humans.
News from UEA HQ, Earth and other colonies
Cherry trees are starting to bloom in the few northern hemisphere Earth biomes that still support them. Pictures are included in this month’s UEA circular.
The location of the next Olympics has been decided. It will be held in Tannhauser Colony, Mars.
And finally, here are the monthly directives:
Commence final surveys and begin construction for the Belt Ocean outpost.
Do your best for humanity!
