[LOG] Zaizen, Marui, Kenya, and Jirou
Who: Marui, Zaizen, Kenya, Jirou
When: Sept 28th
Where: Marui’s room
What: A youtube video is filmed and Zaizen pierces Marui for The Views
As much as Marui would have liked to continue sulking over finally losing Akutsu to Niou, there were things in his otherwise cushy, relaxed life that needed to be done. Zaizen’s new song had to be released on schedule, and that meant the tie-in video for his channel needed to be filmed and sent out for the 30th deadline whether he felt up to it or not. Whatever, he could do this. It wouldn’t be the first time he faked it for the camera.
The camera was set up, and so was everything for the interview. Marui ran his hand across the nape of his neck, self-soothing and feeling the short, newly-cut hair there. He’d got everything ready that he could, all that was left now was to wait for everyone else.
Zaizen showed up at Marui's door, Kenya in tow. He was ready to get this party started, or at least as ready as he ever got. He looked mostly disinterested in the whole process.
"Hey, Bunta-san... new haircut? It looks good on you." Zaizen greeted, coming on in to get comfortable in Marui's room like the brat he was.
Kenya had his first-aid kit with him, stunned when he saw Marui's hair. Ever the touchy-feely one, he went to touch his hair. "Yeah! It looks really nice, Bunta!"
Jirou came bouncing around the corner, ever psyched at the chance to help Marui out again. When he saw Marui he gaped. "You cut your hair! Wow!!! It looks awesome, Marui-kun!!! Super cool!!!"
Zaizen looked at Jirou like he had two heads. "Who the hell are you?"
Jirou quirked his head at Zaizen. "I'm Marui's biggest fan?"
Maybe Marui was simpler than he gave himself credit for, because being fussed over was an immediate mood boost. “Jirou’s gonna be our cameraman today. He’s good, trust me.” He pointed at each of them in turn, quickly introducing everyone. “Jirou, Zaizen, Kenya. Got it? Good. Let’s get this going. The video’s gonna be two main parts, the interview part first, then the piercing. The first part we’ll use the tripod, the piercing you’re gonna have to use your judgement on catching it the best you can, okay?” The last part was mostly directed towards Jirou.
Jirou nodded eagerly, and started getting the camera set up for Marui, ever the helpful boy. "This is gonna be great!"
Zaizen watched the blond scramble around before looking back to Marui. "So what's with the hair cut? You aiming to totally change your image or something? Not that that would be a bad idea... The new hair is cooler than before."
Kenya set himself up off to the side, making sure he had everything he could possibly need if this went south. “I was curious about that, too. Your new look.”
Considering the size of the base and how fast news traveled, they were bound to find out eventually, so Marui decided to just get it out of the way. “I got dumped.” He checked the camera from behind Jirou, double-checking everything was correct. “And no, I don’t want to talk about it. My hair was getting too long anyway, I needed a change.”
"Wow, you can form enough of a relationship with people to actually get dumped?" Zaizen, quite rudely, sounded pretty genuinely surprised. He brushed that off pretty quickly though. "Well, piercings are a good way to get over a breakup."
Jirou squinted at Zaizen. "You're kind of rude... of course Marui is capable of having feelings. He's not a robot."
Kenya, of course, looked worried and sad for Marui, but the other had said he didn’t want to talk about it, so he didn’t pry. “Piercing is a little extreme…but you had this planned before the break-up, right?”
Zaizen was lucky that he was out of smacking range, so Marui threw a chapstick at him instead. “Yes we already planned this. I’m not an emo kid like someone who pokes holes in himself to feel.” He flopped down in his chair, doing a last self-preen and brushing his clothes off before they started filming. “Now shut up and sit down and pretend to be nice for twenty minutes.”
Zaizen took the chapstick that was thrown at him and applied some, before moving to sit in the other chair. "I'm nice all the time Bunta-san, what are you talking about?"
He did his own quick glance over himself before looking to Marui. "Okay, let's start."
As soon as the camera was rolling, a whole nother side of Marui switched on. He greeted his followers, introduced Zaizen and the song, all with the practiced ease of someone who'd done this a million times before, and all without a hint of moodiness. Fakeness down to an art.
Zaizen put on a pretty good facade himself. Still deadpan and disinterested, but he bantered playfully with Marui and discussed his work and was, well... shy at first, but he seemed to grow more comfortable as the interview went on. It was, to be honest, a complete success. And then it was done.
Thank god. Zaizen let out a sigh of relief.
Kenya just stared at the two of them. They were totally not the Hikaru and Bunta he was used to. Still, he had to admit, they were totally professional and cool. “Good job!”
“I don’t like appearing on camera.” Zaizen grumbled.
“So now you need me to hold the camera while you get pierced, right Marui? Are you ready?” Jirou asked, starting to get the camera off of the tripod.
“Yeah, because he’s a wuss who likes privacy,” added Marui, getting up and stretching. “Better get used to it, you can’t avoid the camera forever.” He started moving the chairs around, taking one out of the shot all together, and clearing off a table for Zaizen to put tools on. “Ready as I’ll ever be. Use your judgement on what to zoom on and stuff like that, the only rule is don’t stop filming even if something happens, got it? We can always edit it out later if it’s too embarrassing.” Or feature that clip heavily and replay it multiple times. Either way.
"You need a safe word for if you decide that you really want to stop, if you're really operating under those rules." Zaizen commented, starting to lay out his supplies while Jirou got all uncomfortably close filming him.
Marui rolled his eyes. "Fine, the safeword can be… bazinga. Okay? If I don't say that, don't stop." He flopped into his chair, closing his eyes and reclining. "Don't screw it up, Zaizen."
Kenya stayed on stand-by. "Hikaru pierced my ears and did a great job! He knows what he's doing!" He reassured Marui. It was really all up to how Marui reacted as to whether it would actually go well.
Zaizen nodded his head. "Should be fine as long as you don't jerk around. So hold still."
Zaizen leaned in intimately to start cleaning Marui's ear lobes off and carefully marking where he'd be piercing, humming a little. Marui was gonna look good after this. "I'm surprised it took you this long to get your ears pierced."
"I was nerfing myself on purpose. I had to give everyone else a chance, with my ears pierced I'm gonna be so hot I'm unstoppable." That's a joke… probably. With the outrageous things Marui said, sometimes it was hard to tell. "...you're gonna use ice or cream or something to numb my ears first, right?"
"No ice cream. Doesn't really help." Zaizen replied, unwrapping a sterile needle... and unceremoniously sticking it through Marui's earlobe before he had a chance to complain.
The first hole was always the easiest. He grabbed the earring he sat aside to put into Marui's ear.
"Not ice cream, ice or--" Marui was still trying to wrap his head around what the heck Zaizen was talking about when surprise! That was a needle in his ear. He yelped like a kicked dog, but through some sort of miracle he managed to stay (mostly) still. "Oohhh you're evil."
Zaizen hummed and inserted the earring with a smirk. "I can kiss it and make it better, if that helps at all. You still have two holes left to go, though."
He picked the needle back up and eyed Marui's other ear.
"I'll tell you what you can kiss and it's not my ear." Marui wasn't letting his eyes off that needle this time. Unfortunately, that was making the anticipation that much worse. "Why did I agree to let you do this again? You're just a psycho with a needle, I bet you didn't even go to ear-hole school. I wanna see your license."
"I am licensed. Did this part time when I was in college to pay the bills." Zaizen replied smoothly, stabbing a fresh hole in Marui's other ear. There, ears were always the easiest to pierce. "Looking good, Bunta-san~"
He set about putting the other earring in before holding up a mirror for Marui... and then frowning and handing him some gauze. "Wipe up the bleeding maybe."
Marui didn't yelp this time at least, but he did make a weird groaning 'ough' noise that wasn't much any more dignified. He looked ruffled after the experience, but he took the mirror from Zaizen anyway and checked out the results. "Is there supposed to be that much blood?" He held back on wiping it, letting Jirou get a good shot as-is (peace sign included) before tenderly dabbing them with the gauze.
Kenya stayed behind the camera for now, not too alarmed. “A little blood can happen, should I come take a look at it?” He didn’t want to get in front of the camera if he didn’t need to.
"It's only a little bit. Nothing to worry over." Zaizen replied, quite blasé about things. He cleaned the needle off and got out a new alcohol wipe. "Anyway, time for the best one. Take your shirt off."
'Let Zaizen pick the last piercing and reveal it on camera' had seemed like a much better idea before he'd had needles stuck through his ears. The face Marui was making right now was close-up worthy, and while he'd be laughing about it later during editing, right now it was pure horror. "What are you going to do to me?" Judging by the tone of Marui's voice right now, he expected it to be murder.
Zaizen was cool as a cucumber, clearly enjoying himself. "Well, you need your shirt off for it, so guess. What am I planning to pierce, Bunta-san?"
Marui put on a shocked face and covered his chest with his hands like a girl protecting her modesty. "No."
Zaizen actually laughed at how scandalized Marui was acting despite clearly loving the nipple rings when they were on Zaizen. "I'm aiming for your belly button, dork... I was gonna do your tongue but I think not chewing gum while you healed would literally kill you."
Zaizen was right about that, not chewing gum while his head healed had been hard on Marui. But on the other hand, he’d made it through, plus now he didn’t have the added bonus of the medications making him exhausted and cranky. Marui lifted up his shirt, poking his belly button thoughtfully, (or as thoughtfully as one could.) It would definitely hurt a lot less, but…
Marui looked up at Zaizen again. “Nah, let’s do my tongue.” Brave words from a notorious whiner.
Zaizen raised an eyebrow but shrugged. "Okay, tongue it is. It'll only take a month to heal."
He sat down the alcohol wipe. "Let's break while you go brush your teeth and gargle some mouthwash real quick."
"I can follow you to the bathroom!" Jirou volunteered.
Marui laughed at that, good old reliable Jirou. Into the bathroom they went, Marui hamming it up for the camera while he did as Zaizen said and got his mouth nice and clean. When he was done, he came back to the chair, sitting down with a little more apprehension this time. “I want Ken-chan to hold my hand for this one.” Hashtag not gay.
Kenya blinked. "Okay!" He smiled brightly and headed over to sit with Marui. "Um…are you going to show my face on camera?" Nevermind he had been in several of Zaizen's videos in high school.
"Do a closeup of his legs so my long time fans recognize him." Zaizen suggested to Jirou, who helpfully went to do so while Zaizen got the needle and tongue barbell all ready for Marui. He donned a fresh set of gloves as well. "Anyway, you ready, Bunta-san?"
“Try to keep him out of frame, we can blur your face if it gets in by accident.” Unlike Zaizen, Marui would rather keep Kenya happy than tease him right now, especially when his life depended on Kenya taking his hand away. Marui did his best not to look at the needle as Zaizen got it ready, and clutching Kenya’s hand in his, Marui grimaced. “Hell no I’m not ready, but we’re doing it anyway.” Deeeep breaths. He had this.
Kenya smiled, really appreciating how kind Marui was. He held Marui's hand, taking deep breaths with him.
And Zaizen grabbed a pair of forceps from his piercing kit, going over to pull out Marui's tongue and clamp it so that it was held still and tight.
"This is so your tongue doesn't wiggle around through the whole process." Zaizen explained, as if poor Marui could somehow respond. "And now, the needle."
He proudly displayed the 14 gauge needle.
As soon as he was free, Marui was going to kick Zaizen’s ass. He was doing this on purpose, Marui knew it. But there was nothing Marui could do besides whine and close his eyes, so that’s exactly what he did, gripping Kenya’s hand tighter in anticipation.
Zaizen didn’t give any warning. Warning would just make Marui focus on the impending stab. Nope, he skillfully poked the hole and was inserting the tongue ring before Marui could even process what was happening, before removing the forceps and studying his work. "Not bad. Now we match, Bunta-san~" He turned to the camera and stuck his own tongue out, before giving Marui a little peck on the cheek. "Good job not peeing yourself. I've had way worse clients."
The needle itself wasn’t as bad as the anticipation, but it was still pretty bad. Marui kicked his feet while it happened and absolutely crushed Kenya’s hand in a vice grip, but despite all that he kept his head still, and as fast as it had started it was all done. “Yeah, dat waz fibe.” Marui took a few deep breaths to even out his breathing, oblivious to the tears streaming down his cheeks.
Kenya was lucky he had strong hands because otherwise, Marui very well could have broken his hand. He still held on, wiping away Marui's tears with his free hand. "You did great, Bunta!"
"Yeah, that was awesome! I wanna get pierced too now!" Jirou exclaimed, giving Marui a thumbs up.
"I mean, I have the stuff out now, I could do it." Zaizen shrugged, turning his attention back to Marui. "But yeah, you did great. I was worried you'd be way more dramatic. Good work."
“I’be nebuh been dwamatic a day in my life,” Marui responded, looking thoroughly unimpressed. The impression was ruined completely by Marui trying to talk around the new piece of metal in his mouth without bumping it too much, and as he gingerly explored it, something occurred to him. “...shit, I didn’t wecowd the outwo yet.”
"I'll cover it to help you out." Zaizen replied, patting Marui on the back. "Just write down what you want me to say."
Marui sighed. This was gonna be a long month.
